3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Thanks to Joakim G.
Hazy amber color with rich, persistent head. Rich, phenol-like Belgian yeast in aroma along with fruit compote. Flavour is slight nutty and toasty in the background. Belgian yeast very present. Suggestions of caramel and apricots. Medium bodied and well attenuated. Very elegant beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Drank this after a knackering day at work, really needed a crappy lawnmowner beer just to down for some bog standard refreshment, but had only this; I’m glad I did as this was a treat that probably deserved more considered respect from me; in the five minutes it took to drink I noted burnt sugar, sweet citrus and characterful yeast aplenty; well-balanced and really enjoyable.

Bottle 33 cl. Slightly hazy dark amber color, fair frothy white head, recedes quickly, not much lacing; aroma sweet malty, bread, raisins, bit toasted, ginger cookies (speculaas), some spicy notes; taste malty sweet, slightly bitter, bit caramel, spicy notes, slightly alcoholic; full body, creamy to oily texture; dry earthy bittersweet finish, peppery notes, after a while more bitterness. A complex and balanced beer.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bière plutôt décevante. On reste sur la arômes classiques des bières belges mais beaucoup moins bien équilibrés que chez les autres trappistes...

Bottle, dark amber with a lasting tight cream head, nose has bread, peaches and cream, and a touch of spice. A touch of caramel sweetness in the body, balanced by a dry alcohol bite, plus a hint of yeast, a dry earthiness and a good hoppy bitter finish.
