MiP (6019), Flensburg, Germany Sep 25, 2007 Bottle, 7.5%. OK sweet brown sugar aroma. Almost clear brown colour, small stable tan head. The flavour is quite malty with a perfect balance between brown sugar notes and alcohol. Really good. Flavourful and well-balanced.
oh6gdx (6332), Vaasa, Finland Aug 29, 2007 Bottled (BBE Sept/09). Amber colour, with small"fruitmeaty" particles floating around. Big beige head, which leaves slight lacing. Aroma is fruits, alcohol and slight caramel. Flavour is citrusfruits, some nectar, caramel malts and some slight bittery hops. Alcohol shows in the finish and leaves quite alcoholic and caramelly flavours in the finish. Jerre (1396), Waregem, Belgium Jul 29, 2007 Bottle, 33 cl. (from Willems) Clear amber color; medium white head. Aroma malts, a bit caramel, and little spicy. Light to medium body. Taste is malts, a bit spicy, and biitterness. Aftertaste is dry and light sweet. Not bad. JorisPPattyn (4499), Antwerpen, Belgium Jul 30, 2005 Orange, clear beer; yellowish tinted, whipped eggwhite-like head. Toasted, caramel nose and lots of brandy-like alcohol. Some citrus too, making it very much like some orange-brandy. Bitter citrus, zeste-like, going over in more syrupy taste. Flavour again very much influenced by the alcohol, more toast. Finishes dry, but also rather empty in the palate. Bit burning sensation, both roasted malt & alcohol effect. Dry despite the high sweetness and sugar content. GIves a rather fizzy impression. I’d be hard pressed to venture a brewery of origin. It has a bit harsh character, but isn’t entirely without merits;
