From tap at Borefts Beer Festival 2012. Hazy mahogany body with a small tan colored head. Honey, overripe berries and oak notes fill the nose. Smokey, sweet liquorice and light salty flavors. Full bodied. Light doughy texture, dry tongue and a long pleasant finish.

75cl bottle @ Finissons ces pétroles tasting, merci Pierre. BB 06/11/2020.

Draft @ borefs. Aroma is fruity hops, caramel malts, some bready and more fruity notes. Flavour is quite dry for a barleywine, while retaining some thick sweetness, lovely balanced out by medium bitter fruity hops.

Murky brown and thin head. Residual sugar, raisin, rum and twigs. Some sweetness, bit too much yeast and bitterness. Standard barley wine smell and the taste disappoints a bit. Still nice. (On tap at Borefts 2012)

Light hazy mahogany brown colour, beige head. Quite hoppy aroma, malts, honey, berries and vinous tones. Quite a bit of marmalade. Sweet malty flavour, light bitter hops, honey, marmalade, light touch of wood. Finish dry and lasting.
My last beer before I had to go back home, way too early. So I had to make a good decision.. And this one delivered, quite a nice beer. Didn’t realise beforehand it had a red wine finish though.
