UPDATED: AUG 14, 2015 More of a hop?d up European blonde beer than an IPA but pretty damn drinkable all the same. I?ll get again.

Blonde tirant vers l’ambrée, mousse moyenne blanche.

Bottle from De Molen beershop. Clear amber pour with small lacy white head. Aroma is quite tropical, perfumy, signature Mont Saleve super fruity perfumy aroma, nice malty toastiness though brings some depth. Taste is sweet, tropical, nice caramel, with a rather mild bitterness, but enough to be noticed and cut through the maltiness nicely. Palate is med bodied, slightly boozy with light carbonation. Not the most exciting IPA ever, but enjoyable.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. Pours a beige very cloudy color forming a medium light and bubbled light beige head wit medium retention and some few lingering lacings left in the glass. Very dirty with lots of chunks of yeasts floating inside. Smell is very malty and mainly grassy. Very earthy too. Pale malts, crystal malts and grassy hops. Taste follows the nose: A very malty and hoppy beer. Good medium bitterness. Grapefruit and grass. Very Cascade character. Very earthy end. Medium body. Medium to low carbonation. Grassy and citrus in the aftertaste. Persistent grassy notes. Could be a little bit less dirty and yeasty. Hops profile could be also less grassy. In any case, a great French IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2014 2x33cl bottles, bb08/2014 Cave à bulles, sampled over 4 months. Inviting nose promises pineapple, strawberry, taste delivers quince and orange compote on a soggier palate with a roasty caramel edge, spruce with a dry plywood edge. Some abv coming through. Nice composition, with rougher edges in the execution.
