Bottle from La Route des Bieres in Aix. Refreshing with hints of citrus and a long, dry, bitter finish. Probably not the sort of hop character I’d expect from a double IPA but a refreshing and enjoyable beer that masks its ABV well.

From bottle at Beer Temple. Hazy copper, medium, creamy head. Tropical fruits, intense orange zest and mandarine. Good fruity hop bitterness. Solid craftmanship.

Bottle from the Bierkoning. Hazy amber-copper pour with thin straw colored head that dissappears rather quickly. Aroma of fruity hops but also a lot of fruity alcohol notes, malty caramel, grape juice. Taste is hoppy, not very bitter with strong boozy fruity notes. Palate is med-full bodied with low carbonation. I expected more.

Lovely colour, flavour is promising. Taste holds citrus, pineaple and pine, which is good, but also toffee caramels and yeast strangling sweetness so to speak. I liked it on the start, but the sweetness is a bit sickly to me. Gorgeous label design. From bottle at Haandbryggeriet Ølfestival.

Bottle (330 ml). Hazy golden/orange with a medium mostly lasting beige head and some lacing. Aroma is quite fruity with floral hops, moderate spices and yeastiness, grass and caramel. Taste is slightly sweet and moderately bitter with caramel, floral notes, moderate spices and grassy finish. Alcohol is well hidden. Medium body. Moderate/medium carbonation. Somewhat dry finish. Quite easily drinkable for a 8% abv DIPA. It’s a nice one, but even if it’s fresh, the aroma isn’t really shining. Not world class, but it’s certainly a good starting point.
