3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7298) - Antwerpen, - FEB 2, 2013 Draught Towering dark beige head over ruby-amber shot dark beer, and in fact, more lace than beer. Liquorice, dark bread, bit sweetish smelling, but also dry straw and dried hops. Very dry, near empty flavour. Active coal, liquorice - if especially retronasal. Light sourish onset of each sip. Very slick, if not very well-bodied. Abbey beer, and a (relatively) empty flavour? Difficult to reonciliate, IMO. I would, OTOH, accept this as a good sweet stout...
