COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A ten-month aged Belgian strong pale ale. Our Belgian Strong Pale Ale is the 900th batch of beer brewed in this brewery. We brought in Belgian barley, hops and yeast for this seasonal. To make this beer unique for our brewery, we added honey from Larson’s Apiary in Laurel, MT. This beer is unfiltered and pale copper in color. The aroma and flavor profile is banana, clove, smoke, and apples. There is a lot of malt and honey character that contributes to the high alcohol content. Starting gravity: 20.3*P Finishing gravity: 5.5*P Int. Bittering units: 35

[Growler, courtesy of Skyview] Pours golden with a decent white head. A pretty strange aroma that almost seemed like plastic to me at first, then apple and yeast. Taste is really sweet with a lot of yeast. Medium mouthfeel. Very unusual beer--especially the aroma.

Growler from Skyview. Gold color with no head. Yeasty aroma, along with some coriander and banana. Predominantly a yeast flavor. Reminiscent of unbaked bread. Sweet finish.

A strange name, "belgian strong pale ale." Low alcohol for a Belgian strong. Gold colored with tall, thick head. Light fruit in the aroma. Flavor is very sweet with sugar, light yeast, and some fruit. A hint of wintergreen. Not bad but too sweet.

On draught at the brewery/restaurant in downtown, Billings, Montana. Pours a thick and clear golden amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind no head or ring. Aroma is quite complex with scents of banana esters, candi sugar, bubblegum, light caramel malt, and something that reminded me of those old wintergreen flavored candy cigarettes. Taste is thick and almost syrupy, extremely sweet with a distinct light wintergreen flavor. Finish is quite slick, thick, with a smooth and coating texture that is quite sweet with no bitter aftertaste. Oh, the alcohol comes through during the finish. Almost a sweet barley wine character brew.
