gabriel_syme (58), Massachusetts, USA Jun 2, 2008 On draft at Savor in DC (5/17/08). I tasted some orange, very light flavor overall. I didn’t get any of the peperiness associated with rye. Holdwine (806), Beertimore, Maryland, USA May 18, 2008 At Savor. Wanted to like this because I love rye, but was disappointed as this limped its way to a watery finish. Yes, rye was used, but not to great effect. argo0 (6004), Washington DC, USA May 17, 2008 (Savor, draft) Beige head atop lightly hazed golden body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, coriander, some rye. Taste is medium sweet, orange, some rye, light pepper. Dry, light-medium body. jefcon (820), Arlington, Virginia, USA May 17, 2008 This unorthodox saison carries a nice rye flavor that is both rough and rich. A good balance comes from the orange and coriander, and from an underlying yeast presence. Drying finish. Ernest (4177), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 5, 2007 Multiple samples, GABF 2007.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), trace yeast (dough), with notes of sugar, green apple candy, and lime.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Oof. Smells kinda artificial, sugary, candy-like. Not nearly dry enough. This was a big miss for me.
