We are excited about our first production of limited release ciders featuring a single variety. Newtown Pippin is an heirloom variety widely grown and praised in colonial America. Thomas Jefferson wrote from Paris “they have no apples here to compare with our Newtown Pippin”. This crisp and refreshing cider with classic earthiness and tangerine notes is perfect anytime.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale yellow pour with a retentive ring of bubbles. Fruity aroma with notes of caramel corn and strawberries. Fizzy body which partially obscures the flavors due to the overall lightness. On the palate, there is a lot of zip with a dry/sweet contrasting finish that is pleasant but mildly unsatisfying. When this cider sits in the mouth, it opens up with a big honeysuckle floral/sweet note. Lingering cotton candy flavor is pretty unique. This is a really good cider that could use a touch less carbonation to let the Newtown Pippin apple shine.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Picked up a single 500ml bottle at the Good Food Store in Missoula, MT. Pours a clear golden pale yellow colored cider with a thin small bubble white ring and film top. Aroma of tart apple, light shiitake mushroom, cider yeast and a hint of floral. Taste is light to medium bodied, some tart carbonation with flavors of sweet and tart apple, and mango. Finish is sweet at first with a tart and dry apple aftertaste.
