3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Suttree (4498) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 26, 2005
Nice Red/copper appearance, with a fresh, caramel aroma. Big caramel /toffee flavor up front. Faint hop flavor to finish. Nice malt profile, could possibly use more bitterness to balance it out.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Pigfoot (2268) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 13, 2005
According to the label, an IPA.
Clear, coppery color, slim fastidious white head.
Nicely hoppy aroma, reeks of forest floor, raw hops, very resiny, albeit a bit quiet.
Taste: neat little buzz of hops on the palate, but brief, ...fruity, for sure, and slightly bitter, but lacking in body and depth. Tasty, but just short of substantial. Wish it had a heartier tang to it...it’s an easy drinking ale, there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s far too meek for an IPA, if that’s what it’s trying to be. Feels far too thin, ultimately, to be more an average, just-tasty-enough, kind of tosser-backer.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 adrenalin112 (57) - Lake Forest, California, USA - FEB 12, 2005
mediorcre when compared to a normal IPA, but excellent when you consider the lack of decent beer available to you on the vegas strip. copper color, smooth taste with a crisp hop finish. not as aggressive as i prefer for an IPA, but still respectable.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dansting (222) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - FEB 1, 2005
Draught. Best beer at the place. Clear, copper color with a nice hoppiness to it. Not as bitter as I like, but not bad. Overall, it was pretty decent. Worth the trip if you are on the Strip.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rudolf (2276) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 20, 2005
Decent hop presence in the nose, some sweet malt. Quite sweet at first but that is quickly balanced with ohps (similar hop flavor to Lake Placid Frostbite.) Tingly pine/citrus finish.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 MIBRomeo (2351) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 16, 2004
poured a bit of a reddish color.. I mistaked it for the red at first... it smelled mildly hoppy w/ a citrus backing... it tasted of dry hops w/ a citrus back kick.. it was a little bitter and IMO a bit watered down.. nothing to write home about.. I’ve disliked better IPA’s
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 argo0 (10425) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 23, 2004
Clear light amber body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, strong grapefruit, some pine. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pine, caramel. Watery medium body.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dogbrick (6178) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 15, 2004
From a sampler: Pours a light copper color with a thin off-white head that stayed awhile. Light hops and grapefruit in the nose. Medium-bodied and dry, with moderate floral hops, along with more subdued citrus and malt flavors. The finish is dry and lightly bitter. Overall not a bad IPA, they are on the right track with this.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BückDich (5466) - McCall, Idaho, USA - OCT 9, 2004
Sampled draught at Monte Carlo Brewpub, Las Vegas Pale copper, well retentive head. Nose of grapefruit and pine. Flavor of dry sweet floral hops. Well balanced finish, good.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OldGrowth (2138) - North Carolina, USA - OCT 9, 2004
At Brewpub, Ok to good nose, sweet aromas, I thought of pine, oranges, little flowery. Orange amber color, ok head that faded quickly. Bitter sweet flavors, Same as aroma, initial bitterness , grapefruit, then got sweet, more like oranges. Toffeeish malts. Thin bodied, dry bitter finish. Tasty enough, though I might have called it a pale ale.
