2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Grapes, booze, other vinous characteristics dominate start to finish. Really reminds me of a mediocre wine in many ways. No thanks.

Very dark brown color, almost black; small head. Aroma of dark malts, chocolate, with a pleasant wine twist, light wood too. The body is strong enough, with malt flavor, chocolate, quite strong sour presence, light fruits, vinous. Astringent final.
Dynamic and very pleasant, complex.

Opaque brown beer. Crisp palate. Sour start but it’s not puckery! Unsweet wood and some herbs in the malt. Finishes tangy and a crisp. An interesting sourish dark beer.

1.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Opaque mahogany with a thin but dense and lasting tan head. Medium-full body with high carbonation.
Aroma: acetic sourness with a hint of acetone, dark fruits like cherry and plum, and a bit of roasted maltiness. Like an oud bruin, maybe with cherries.
Taste: sour cherries, acetone, dark fruit and malt, notes of char and soy sauce.
Acetone is overpowering and burns my throat. There is some orher nice stuff going on underneath it.

Not much by way of notes on this one! I think this was towards the end the night at a tasting over at mark’s house. "Sweet and sour, dark and berry. molt acidic". lol. can barely read it. but I must have loved it based on the numbers! Would definitely like to try it again.
