Piaciuta tantissimo. Trovo difficile definirla un Barley Wine sinceramente.

Pour is a dark syrupy brown with very little tan head. Nose is very sweet cherries up front, notes of dry chocolate and rain, more fruit sweetness and notes of boozy rum faintly behind but well put together. Taste is chocolate and dark malt up front, raisins and cherries followed by head and rum, a bit stronger than the nose would lead you to believe and a bit less integrated. Feel is creamy and almost full bodied with a soft carbonation and semi dry finish. A little sweet but not bad.

Bottle from Bir&Fud. Very dark brown, red tint, small white head. Aroma of cocoa, raisins, coffee. Rich roasty taste, with coffee, dry licorice, vanilla and belgian yeast. Good bitterness joined by vanilla for a long good aftertaste. Awesome stuff!

Pours dark brown with brown head that disappears quickly. The nose is light with some yeast and dark malts, roasted notes. The initial flavour is a bit sweet but well balanced with the bitterness, flat carbonation and a quite full malty body.

Dark brown, tan head. Nose is roasted malt, caramel, dark bread, coffee. Taste is roasted malts, some yeast notes, licorice, coffee notes. Some dryness in the finish. Roasty-bitter aftertaste. Medium body, smooth, oily mouthfeel.

Dark brown with a frothy tall head which immediately disappears. Aroma of alcohol, belgian yeast, dried fruit. Taste is sweet, with hints of fruits again and an aftertaste like porto or other liquor wine.Ends dry

Draught at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fa. Chocolate and spice nose, dried fruits. Black with a low, bubbly head. Very chocolaty and fruity flavor, with quite a tart edge. Plums and raisins, a bit of coffee, and a dry and bitter finish. Full, cream, big mouth. A bit too sweet at first but finishes dry. Well, still a bit too sweet—but good. I would call this a Belgian Strong Ale, not a Barley Wine.

Large bottle from Domus Birrae in Rome. Great darkest brown pour with light tan head, quickly dissipating. nice, typical belgian brown nose: sweet molasses, robust dark malt and fruit. Coffee, cocoa nib, bright yeastiness. sticky, slightly off-bitter note. Would take this for a quad or strong belgian brune. really tasty.
