Dark brown color; medium head. Nice aroma, chocolate with a touch of good coffee, and roasted nuts. Goody body strength, good chocolate flavor with some roasted malts, a hint of liquorice and a shade of the Montegioco sourish character (very subdued here); correct bitterness. Very rich.

2008-05-30, blind tasting at Yespr’s, 6-3-7-3-14=33
Dark brown color. Quite simple caramel aroma. Medium body, with a quite good caramel and dark chocolate flavor. In the final the chocolate gets a light vanilla touch, but maybe also some yeast. Not too complex but nice.

Very dark brown beer with a thin tan head. Hard to pin down. Slightly sour like a porter but has a chocolatey character. Like a hybrid of a porter and a Belgian brown. Dry finish with a sour malt aftertaste and a little chocolate too. Unusual!
