scraff (1656), Baltimore, Maryland, USA May 11, 2008 Thanks for sharing, argo0! Deep mahogany, creamy white head. Warm fig and raisin notes lay on soft ashy chocolate and wood-like tones. Dried fruit and boozy cola flavors roll on softer tones of burnt chocolate from start to finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Not bad, but could definitely use some cellar time…
Mes_and_Sim (4320), Highgate, Greater London, England Aug 24, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF. Almost black with an excellent tan coloured head. Awesome sweet malt, masses of fruit with clear blackcurrant notes and tasty as hell. Very burnt and roasty with plenty of coffee character. Good spice and bitterness in the finish with slight alcohol showing. Not a barley wine in my opinion but certainly a well made and very enjoyable beer. Skinnyviking (2624), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and lasting light brown body. Pitch balck body. Roasted malt aroma with coffee and liquorice. Smooth mild and round flavor of coffee and liquorice but little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long aftertaste. Would never have guessed such a high alcohol percentage. maeib (3949), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Aug 13, 2008 Bottled - GBBF 2008. A black beer with a frothy coffee head. The aroma hs some hops and some light grass. The taste has alcohol and more grass. Some petrol, and sweet fruitiness. The body lets the beer down. Could have been really good. fonefan (4333), Ulfborg, Denmark Aug 11, 2008 Bottle 75cl @ [ Mafioso Blind Tasting @ yespr, Bottle #10.] Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lancing, mostly diminishing, off-white to beige head.
