Papsoe (10510), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2008 (Bottle 37,5 cl.) Courtesy of yespr. Hazy amber golden with a creamy off-white head. Tart, Brettish aroma. Quite full-bodied with a somewhat low carbonation, extremely sweet fruit and a strange acidity. This beer points in many different directions, but I actually find it quite interesting - but harmonious? No! I take it that the Bretty aroma was intended. 200608 yespr (6944), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 26, 2008 37.5 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a slowly collapsing white head. Mild citric and medium dry brett aroma. Light creamy mouthfeel. Mild fruity yeasty flavour, light oak note mixed with a creamy yeasty flavour. Holds a nice mellow yeasty base with a nice brett accent. Light milky and citric finish. Nice one. fiulijn (5880), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 20, 2008 Bottle, courtesy of Yespr Cloudy amber color; creamy head. It’s a good Belgian Ale, with a balance between sweetness, malt, fruitness. Indeed the aroma is a bit vinous, and with very light vanilla too. Good mouthfeel, with a light astringency from the cask ageing. Very good. hopdog (4654), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 Bottle shared courtesy of ’Irresistible’. Poured a medium amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of tart cherries, wood, vanilla, and light caramel. Smelled more like a ’sour’. Tastes of dark fruits, light wood, vanilla, and cherries. Thin body. Light lacing left on the glass. JorisPPattyn (4500), Antwerpen, Belgium Sep 9, 2008 Oak aged Bright red-amber, medium orangey head. Very fruity, fleshy and fruity esters in the nose. Wood, wild strawberries, more esters and higher alcohols - very balanced flavourprofile. Medium bodied, acids thinning, lively. Another gem from Montegioco.
