From notes: Received as an extra in a past trade with WilliamD. Pours a dark, hazy golden amber/chestnut brown color with a two finger frothy off white head. Good retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Sporadic spots of lacing left behind. Earthy oak aroma with hints of vanilla as well as some crisp light fruit and vinous dark fruit. Slightly funky with hints of grape and strawberry. Vinous medium body that is slightly funky/tart but not acidic with hints of dark fruit and earthy oak. I’m picking up hints of cherry, strawberry and grape as well as some subtle vanilla. Dry finish.

Thanks Pepsicanihave4beers! One of those trick beers one happens upon every few hundred rates where the taste is drastically different from the aroma. Aroma-mildly tart, vinous, slight caramel, bready. Flavor-a big slap in the face with cognac (although good, once I became accustomed to it). Candy, caramelly sweetness. Very low carbonation. A little spicy. Hated this at first, liked it by the end.

Bottle at Churchkey. Murky light brown, five huge bubbles, no lacing. Aroma of citrus and clay. Flavor starts and ends sour, interesting bits of wood and earth. Worth trying.

Bottle shared courtesy of ’Irresistible’. Poured a medium amberish color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of tart cherries, wood, vanilla, and light caramel. Smelled more like a ’sour’. Tastes of dark fruits, light wood, vanilla, and cherries. Thin body. Light lacing left on the glass.
