3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 portableparty (1179) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - APR 7, 2012
Bottle to snifter. Pours cloudy dark amber copper in color with a quick soapy tight head that settles to a ring. Aroma has signs of blueberries and anise with caramel burnt bready malt trying to show through. Taste is strong yeast and spice with burnt caramel sugary malt and dark fruit with bitterness and alcohol showing through the finish. Palate is medium and fizzy with the carbonation and finishes chalky and dry. Complex interesting brew, but not enjoyable enough to respect the price for the bottle!
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Butters (3004) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 1, 2012
Sampled on New Years Eve 2012. Had this bottle sitting around for a while and as such, hid the abv fairly well. Blueberry hints and other fruity matly sweetness. Didn’t really care for it, and certainly not worth the price, but not horrible.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 unclemattie (3342) - Georgia, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Beer brewed with blueberries. Paper wrapped. 750mL bottle, capped. Reddish color. Aroma of Barley Wine. Caramelized sugars, dried fruit. Not much blueberry (much like Sweetwater’s Blue Balls). A good bit of alcohol. Flavor of toffee, light bodied.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Matts_Property (652) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 19, 2011
Sample from a bottle at PIB. Pours a cloudy brown with a small white lacing, and lots of visible sediment. Aroma of butterscotch, caramel, dark fruits, and bourbon. Flavour is initially huge sweetness on the tongue, butterscotch, plums and raisins, some orange in there too, and booze, with a wood aftertaste. This was a little too sweet for me, and the booze wasn’t well worked in. Other than that, pretty good.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mcberko (2456) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 16, 2011
Sampled from bottle at PIB, pours murky dark orangey amber with a small head. Aroma of butterscotch, caramel, dark fruits and a little bourbon - pretty subtle on the nose. Flavour is heavy on orange / tangerine, quite harsh sweetness and booziness. The booze and sweetness cuts some of the complexity. Still solid.

Getestet beimn LCRBM
Leicht malzig, man merkt, dass da noch etwas kommen wird. Der Alkohol verbindet sich mit einer fruchtigen Note, trotz des starken Alkoholaromas ausbalanciert. Lecker!

Few year old bottle. Pour is dirty deep butterscotch with a small white head. Aroma is oxidation, caramel malt, light fruit, and a faint cereal malt note. Flavor is also quite oxidated with hints of fruit, cereal malt, and a light sweet finish. Alcohol is well hidden, but this is not great.

Pours a dark tawny brown, low head .. . booze, berry, brandy, bark, barrel, and dusk/musk .. . woah! very boozy!! and very sharp, but he aftertaste is quality! .. . pretty thin and made for a cheese plate .. . i enjoyed it but the sharpness hurt my score .. thanks again Lou, this was a big bottle to throw in as an extra in our trade, i appreciate it, cheers bluesandbarbq.. .

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 marcot (771) - Campomorone, ITALY - JAN 6, 2011
