Pours murky yellow with no head. Angels of spices and malt. Tastes light, sweety, malty, and spicy. Cardamon, sage, make. Sweet, clean finish.

750 from Star Grocery in Berkeley, CA. Opens with a pop, and it gushes. Pour is hazy, amber ripe stone fruity with a foamy head that quickly leaves. Strong ripe light stone fruit aromas. Near full in body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is ripe light stone fruit with some yeastiness. But the main impact is near ripe peach or apricot. The flavor is lush and fruity. I’m not getting sage. But this is one fantasic tasting ale. Even more tasty than the Demon Hunter.

On tap @macche. Sweet with sage taste, it has a pleasant spicy taste. It seemed easy to drink to me despite its alcohol gradation which is not so low. No head with a bitter finish. Very good beer.

Montegioco continua a stupirmi. Birre originali ma fatte benissimo. Nel bicchiere si presenta ambrata tendente all’arancio. Poca schiuma poco persistente. Al naso subito floreale, speziata e con note di frutti rossi, soprattutto fragola. Al palato ingresso liscio con un successivo exploit abbastanza corposo di note calde dell’alcohol e dei frutti rossi per virare verso il finale in un amaro erbaceo. Quando si scalda si sente (almeno io l’ho sentito) il gusto e l’odore caratteristico del provolone piccante ( o comunque di qualcosa di formaggioso).

Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Murky orangish color with lots of chunky sediment in it. Sweet aroma with grain and perfumy spice. Flavor of grains that turn sweet later in the sip. Earthy and natural with a fading finish. Incredibly smooth.

( 750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours opaque orange with nice bubbles and good lacing. Nose of metal, white grapes, clover honey and fireweed. Taste is honey, spicy, and watery body.

Tap at Open Baladin, Roma - 02/10/12. Slightly hazy golden with no head. A certain sourness to the nose, sour mango, peach and apricot. Taste follows but the flavours aren’t quite as prominent as the nose. Medium bodied with little carbonation leading to a slightly sour and fruity finish,

Présence d’un mince col mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de céréales et d’herbes avec une pointe de caramel. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture huileuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût légèrement citronné. (Rating #1937)

Vintage 2008, batch 11/08, 3 years old
Beautiful light amber color, hazy; medium sized head, although there was a high pressure in the bottle. The aroma is interesting, a bit puckery; there is some malt, light fruitiness, very light herbs and cabbage. Lean body, but round mouthfeel; there is some residual sweetness that makes it pleasant to drink, with light malt flavor and sage; there is also a light fruity touch (peaches). Correct bitterness. Very well balanced and still fresh.
