23/02/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Dorata, viva, schiuma bianca abbondante e abbastanza persistente. Naso magnifico, scorza d’arancia, pane, frutta matura, un leggero tocco erbaceo, luppolato. In bocca è di grande equilibrio, magistrale oserei dire, fragrante, lieviti, malto, pane, finale amarognolo luppolato ma per nulla eccessivo. Corpo leggero, appena watery, carbonazione buona. Tra le migliori belgian ale mai assaggiate al di fuori del Belgio!

Mi aspettavo di meglio ma 35 di giudizio globale mi sembra davvero poco. Comunque, appare nel bicchiere ambrato mielato con un bel cappello di schiuma compatto e persistente. Al naso note dolci fruttate con luppolatura finale. Ingresso in bocca un pò slavato. Successivamente ai lati della lingua si sente dapprima un dolce tipo frutta gialla e miele (poco intenso qust’ultimo) seguito da un bel amaro erbaceo. Non so... non è che mi abbia fatto strappare i capelli. Gradevole... ma niente di più.

Clear milky yellow beer, small aery white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: lots of fruity yeast, ripe melons, marzipan, sweet fruity candy, bubble gum. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, melons, bitter hops, pretty floral, little marzipan sweetness, yeast. Aftertaste: bitter hops, some citrus, lemon zest, yeasty, bit floral, still very fruity.

Draft @ Cantillon Quintessence 2012. Dorée légèrement brumeuse, col blanc. Arôme est fruité et houblonné dans un style très belge. Palais est léger et houblonné noble restant légère et facile à boire sur des notes pils qui met en avant une amertume fleurie des houblons. Possible pointe herbacées entre sureau et camomille.

This beer had the questionable honor of being the only weak beer @ Cantillon Quintessence 2012. To bad they didn’t have either the Mummia or one of its versions which are excellent sours and would have fit in nicely into the whole. An opinion that was carried not only by me. Basically a pretty weak Belgian Ale. Hazy citrus golden with close to no head. Smell is flowers, nectar, sweet, apricot. Bitter grainy taste, esters, yeast, bitter herbal, nectar, oddly overlapping citrus, doesn’t really work, somewhat grainy body. Not entirely working.

Erfrischend herber Beginn, der aber recht einfach gestrickt ist, süffug und unspektakulär. Belanglos. 9/8/10/8/10/8

Buona birra! Non si presenta benissimo e l’aroma è un po particolare! Ma devo dire che è perfetta con antipasti e piatti leggeri e di pesce, sapore soft leggermente fruttato e di luppolo, non troppo complesso, retrogusto amarognolo fruttato leggermente e duraturo!

Bottle from Domus Birrae. Pours very hazy dark gold with a 3 finger foamy white head. Aroma is difficult to describe - as is the flavor. It’s sort of a malty wit. Herby. Zesty. Bitter hop. Like chewing bitter grass in part. So not so like a wit. Whatever it is, it is rather tasty.
