Spina @ le birre della merla 2014. (Versione 2009) Ambrata crica con poca schiuma. Molto acida e forte, carbonazione fine che la rende stuzzicante

Bottle from Lambiczoon, Milan; Sour Ale 2009; batch 12/12, bb 31/12/17
Cloudy amber color, with few bubbles, not a real head, apparently undercarbonated. Mild aroma; there is some malt, bread, light sourness, light acetone, and an impression of white wine. It has a subtle carbonation; good malt flavor with moderate and pleasant residual sweetness; the acidity is mild, although it shows some signs of acetone; it’s a bit fruity too and has a light vinous character.
It’s somehow a reachable sour beer for many palates, yet complex enough. Good.

Draught at "MadreBirra 2013" - Brescia. Dark amber color, clear reddish foamy head, medium bubbly presence. Sour and crisp nose, notes of reddish aged grapes and winous stum. Modest aged and dried cherry palate, very perfumed with a sour and acidulous smooth final.

15/1272012 Bir&Fud (tap). Bevuta a Birre Sotto l’Albero. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Così così.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 21 Oct 2012) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Sour, fruity nose with notes of balsamic vinegar, dried fruit, stable and barnyard. Fruity, tart taste with balsamic vinegar, citrus, grapefruit and green apples. Medium body, dry and tart. Hardly any bitterness. Nice and well made sour ale.

Clear orange to light amber beer, no head. Aroma: pretty pungent sourness, bretta, lemon, vinegar, bit vinous, slightly fruity touch, red berries, bit peppery. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: sour lemony start, some overripe fruits, plums, very sour, sugary as well, some alcohol. Aftertaste: sweet and sour, dry tanins, still pretty fruity, grapes, dry tart ending with an alcohol burn in the throat.

Draft @ Cantillon Quintessence 2012.

Draught No head, faintly reddish shine through hazed orange-golden beer. Interesting nose with farmyard, lambic-like odours, sour cherry and other wild fruit, lemonpeel. Sourish, but mild lambic-like flavours with again wild fruit as wild raspberries a/o sourcherry. Bit of breadcrust. Light body, but well-attenuated it would seem, even if the carbonation is missing. Very good, excellent balance with a recognisable cherryflavour that is nowhere too outspoken.
