Deep black, definate black malt flavour and aroma, biscuity on the tongue, enough hoppy flavours to keep you interested.

Not bad, pretty deep black in colour, very burnt ashtray flavour, but quite thin, still enjoyable, the hops always remain in the background, and the malt isnít too well pronounced, decent.

Yummy black. Even though Iím more likely to have an ALT or Pilsener. Something else...

Fantastic dark beer. The coffee aftertaste can get a bit much after five of them. Iíd still go out of my way to get one though.

Sorry I was unfair to this beer last time I had it, when I was a bit too pissed to be an impartial judge. Itís actually a pretty faithful rendition of the Schwarzbier style, with subtle, rich dark malt complexity, a hint of banana ester, and overall lightness of texture. The hops are a bit on the sweet and soapy side though. But really pretty damn all right in the end.

Aroma of dark malt hits straight away. This is the blackest beer iíve had, is overcarbonated yet has absolutely no head. Very ídarkí taste as well with some bitterness but this beer is simply foul. Essentially a one dimentional dark lager. This canít be typical of a Schwartzbier, can it?

Roast chocolate aroma, fairly smooth and sweet, but no depth.

A deliciously malty dark beer.
