There’s plenty of rich maltiness from this Pale Ale and higher-kilned malt combination. The Cascade and special New Zealand hops create a fruity aroma with a dose of bitterness to drive home the hop flavour. A beer for the IPA aficionado with a distinctly Kiwi style. Perfect for a moment spent catching up with old mates.

330ml bottle from a six-pack, bought at the tax-free store at Gardermoen Airport. Clear amber coloured body. Bubbly, low beige head, clingy lacing. Rather sweet aroma of dried fruits. Taste of caramel malts, dried fruits and bread. More sweet than bitter to the ending. Anonymous for an IPA (shared with friends, hotel room Islington London 11.04.2016).

Is this really an IPA? Malty sweet broth with no hoppiness whatsoever. Sad that great Dutch beers won’t find space on the shelves in supermarket but this beer treks halfway across the globe.

Bottled from AH in Mestreech. Color is dark amber with frothy beige head. Fruity nose. Aroma is fruity, herbs and sweet malts. Flavour is fruity, floral, with dry soft hops and nice aftertaste. Nice brew, Kiwis!

(Monteiths Brewer’s Series India Pale Ale) Bottle 330 ml from local Albert Heijn, served into a shaker, ABV 5.5% Deep orange colour on the body, crystal clear, with a small and a bit thin white head on top, with average retention. Aroma has malts, cookie dough, biscuit, not the aromatic nuances I was expecting. Taste is sweet and malty, some biscuit in there, caramel. Again not really an IPA. Medium body, carbonation on good levels. A bit disappointing.

I agree that this tastes more like a hoppy pils. So as an IPA this doesnt deserve a good rating although I like a hoppy pilsner.

33cl bottle. Clear, medium brown pour with thin white head, no lacing. Aromas of leather, bread and grass. Taste is medium bitter, almost dry, no sourness. High carbonation, oily palate. Aftertaste is dry and hoppy. Below average IPA, lacks punch.

Bottle: Served in a shaker: Creamy fluffy head. Clear dark golden dark yellow orange colored body. Aroma is like a better hopped pils. Flavour is a very dull, sweet herbal and malty ipa. Although malty and a somewhat strange and unbalanced body it’s not terrible. Aftertaste is bitter, malty and some sweet malty caramel ish herbal tones... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. After a while it becomes more and more difficult to enpty the glass because of the malty and unbalanced body and to discover something else than the pilsener flavour... Nah, it didnt start bad, it finished bad...

33 cl. bottle @ home found at Albert Heijn. Appearance: Clear dark golden with a white head. Aroma: Malts some sweetness, some citrus. . Taste: low bitter, some citrus, grass and earthy tones on a body light malts thinnish. Thin body and a bit watery, average carbonation. A English IPA, incase of the hops, but even then it’s all a bit watery.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Albert Heijn Culemborg. Clear dark golden with a white head. Malty aroma with some sweetness. Taste is low bitter with some earth notes. More of an English IPA than an US one. Beer is a bit flat which fits the English profile. Nice enough but don’t expect a hopbomb.
