Based on a traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen with added sweetness. Sun-ripened Otago apricots balance the tart, clove and banana flavours of our wheat malt and special yeast. Overlaid with a fine, noble hop to create a fresh, spicy finish. Perfect for that moment when you get to the bach.

Better than I was expecting as it was overly sweet. Definitely one for a hot day and a beer for the girls. A little heavy on the palate for this style of beer.

Pint on tap. Pours bright yellow with thin head. Smell is super sweet apricots. Taste is similar, reminiscent of a beer cocktail.

Apart from the Apricot aroma this is as thin as chicken lips. It’s lightly hazy, and I got no head, no lacing and an unpleasant looking glass of beer after a few minutes. I’d be charitable and say good effort, but this isn’t even that. Avoid.

So this is unfiltered. So why does it pour surprisingly clear? It has a persistent white head and has good evident carbonation. Aromas tend strongly toward apricot and carry very little else. The apricot smells natural (thankfully) and would be endearing to novice beer drinkers and appreciators of fruit alike. The mouthfeel is full and fluffy as I expected and had very gentle to bugger-all wheat character. There is a slight bitterness there, but it isn’t knockout material. A definite summer beer or good for charming the pants off a ladyfriend, but not something designed to withstand critical appraisal.
