Bottle. Medium carbonation, pale colour. Nice apple taste, not too sweet. Similar to a draught cider. Ice cool is best. Would buy again!

330 ml bottle bought at YATA in New Town Plaza, Shatin.

Clear, near colourless with very pale very yellow green hue; Razor thin head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; Near zero lacing with notable slight carbonation; Sweet aroma of apple wine and apple juice, with moderate yoghurt tartness, sugar, strong wood, sparkling wine, light mustiness and strong tannic; Mid to light sweet taste of light apple wine, with fairly light tartness very strong carbo, sugar, light alcohol, very light wood and light tannic; Light body. Thin and slightly oily palate; Mouth feel is very scrumpy like with strong sweet feel and apple can be felt at this level. Lots of carbo in this! Alcohol can be felt in background and has a slightly oily feel to the tongue, otherwise permeating sweetness cover up the light tartness, wood and tannic. Sorta okay… Wet after taste. Fairly sweet and quite easy to mouth.

Comments: Having many scrumpy with strong booze and no apple nor sweet tastes, this is what I’ve wished for but dodin’t quite work out: nicely sweet, but the booze is not high enough to impress, and while the apple taste makes its presence, the yoghurt and tannic is too low. All things are evened out so it’s drinkable but rather average. Oh, and did I say too much carbo?

Sweet apple with a light tart aroma. Medium to thin body with loads of carbonation. Flavor is sweet apples in the beginning, a very brief tart note, and then a sugary sweet apple finish. Active carbonation all the way through. Easy to drink a couple of these but then they get too sweet for me. Nice cider, though.

From a bottle. Pretty much what you’d expect from a good cider. It’s more than drinkable.

Keg - Lake Bar, Wanaka. Almost colourless with no head. Aromas of ripe, slightly tart red and green apples. Light to medium body, medium carbonation with a sweet softness. Short, low intensity finish. Quaffable and refreshing enough but lacking body and acidic balance to offset the dominance of the sugary apple character.
