2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled, Pasteurised. Golden beer with carbonated head. Delicious aroma, citric, orangey, but a disapointing following flavour. Somewhat cardboardy with low hops and a flay flavour. Loosely malty and a little soapy. Good start but quickly declining.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This seems to get crapped on a fair bit in the ratings, but I liked it. Maybe Iíve had too many bad lagers lately. Standard pour of a clear gold colour with a decent head. Definitely something sweet in the aroma in addition to the malt presence, and the palate is gently malty with a crisp finish. Beats all the macro pale lagers Iíve tried lately.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bright Golden Coloured beer with a white head that slowly fades to a thick ring. Some Lacing. Farly strong carbonation. aroma of pale malts and gentle hop notes. Some nice, but fast fading malt flavours. A fairly dry, fast finish. Mild bitterness, but well balanced, Overall a bit plain, jsut another generic lager, still better that most megaswill.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
My sister brought this one back from New Zealand. Nice sweet aroma with faint hops. Good citrus character. Fairly normal pour, with quickly disappearing head and golden colour. The flavour is nice, not exceptional but a good citrus hop flavour followed by some good bitterness. This is a great dinner beer, or for watching rugby. I like it.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Above-average antipodean lager. Gold colour, brief short head. Aroma has some sweet caramel notes and fresh hops. Malt is the dominant flavour, with some unusual Macadamia nut characters. Subtle but distinctive flavour profile. One of the brewerís better beers. (Bottle)

2.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted from the bottle, the initial waft of tangerine citrus and sweet lively aromas hit dead on, but failed immensely inside the mouth. Honey malt in the front (look hard!!!), soapy and chalky palate, up starred by a minimal spicy bite and a short mildly sweet, dry swallow. Lovely scent, pity about the prey!!

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Tasted 05/02/2005. Standard stubbie from Seatoun Four Square.
Darkish golden colour with lightweight airy head that is gone by the time Iíve put the bottle down. Big bubbles donít look promising. Strong corn syrup and vegetal aroma has me checking the best before date. Iíve still got until September according to that. No malt OR hop flavour or aroma. I canít believe I used o think this was Monteiths best effort.
