Orange straw colour with a white fluffy head that lasted most of the distance and left some lacing. Slight malt aroma which took a while to come through. Not a lot of taste, a balance of malt and hops, slightly soapy on the finish and almost oily texture. Thirst quenching beer and nothing more.

Somewhat pilsnerish, but not really quite there, not enough hop aroma or bitterness for that. I swear that I could taste the use of sugar in this brew, but the bar-wench told me I was dreaming.

Pale gold, big head with large bubbles that is gone as quick as you look at it, leaves some lone bubbles atop the beer. Looks pretty bad in fact. Aroma is that stinky bloody wet dog thing. I didn't expect that, I thought this would be good dammit. Fortunately the aroma doesn't continue into the flavour, in fact nothing does. Fizzy light palate with the slightest hint of malt and neglible hops. I am actually fundamentally disappointed I spent the weekend trying macro beer that I expected to be bad and this is only just better than the best of them. However it will have to lose some overall points for having the image of a quality beer when it is actually a lowest common denominator beer.

The good thing about this beer is that it is available in the departure lounge at Auckland airport. This means you don't have to pay for it. The bad thing is that it is another disappointing version of the same lager style available from everywhere else on the planet. No hop aroma to speak of and a poor fizzy head that lasts only briefly. I think this is my 100th lager rating, so a disappointment that this should be it.

Ordinary. Tries to be something it's not. I simply did not enjoy this beer. Thankfully it came in a 330ml bottle and I didn't have to endure another 45ml more than I normally would have to.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2003 This beer is average. Has a nice golden colour, starts off well with a nice solid pang of bitterness but fades away and dissapoints. Its missing something vital. cheers

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2003 No head present: but a great orangy colour. a nice malty smooth brew that is nice and easy to slide down the throat. not much continuing aftertaste, but not a bad drop.

MGC with a touch of amber colour. Small short lasting white head. Initially quite metallic with some fruity nectar malt aroma as it warms. Quite low carb, slightly oily mouth feel. Short stale bitter and light malt flavours. Artificial acetone alcoholo like finish and aftertaste. Real or below ordinary.

Bottle. In the great beer quest, hunting over the world for fine beers, this is simply a tin shack by the side of the road. Metallic aroma and - oops, no that was me, I just farted and thought the beer had got interesting... Um, there is a bit of fruit in the flavour, something tropical - sort of mango like. Mmmm, that tin shack is becoming more interesting. Flat, watery finish with that metallic quality returning. A tin shack it may be, but inside there are comfy sofas and palm trees.
