COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There’s plenty of rich maltiness from this Pale Ale and higher-kilned malt combination. The Cascade and special New Zealand hops create a fruity aroma with a dose of bitterness to drive home the hop flavour. A beer for the IPA aficionado with a distinctly Kiwi style. Perfect for a moment spent catching up with old mates.

Aroma. Smells mainly of caramel with some slight hoppiness. Appearance. Pours a nice earthy red colour. Taste. Toffee and bread flavours really some to come through here, though with not too much sweetness, considering the lack of hoppiness i wouldn’t really call it an ipa. Overall. I bought this beer wanting to try a new ipa, whilst bean a good beer it certainly doesn’t deliver in the ipa department.

Bottle on Brighton Beach with some appalling, freshly defrosted fish and chips, 02/01/15. Good tight persistent foam over clear orange amber. Aroma of water on stone, minerals, orange barley. Meagre orange barley and peach hop notes; licked slate, caramel, northern Englishness, spun candy. The height of mediocre.

Sigmund (5462) - Tau, NORWAY - MAR 3, 2015
Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Deep golden colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma of dusty and stale malts, hints of unfermented wort and stale old hops. Dry and "dusty" flavour with moderate bittering hops, but not much hop flavour otherwise

20-FEB-2015, bottle @home, from Superbest. Slightly hazy golden with a lasting White head. Aroma is quite hoppy with very fruity notes but also a very metallic. The nice fruity stuff dissappears and leaves a more tired profile. Taste is overripe fruit and tired hops. Medium carbonation and body. Nah.

PapaVillum (576) - Valby, DENMARK - FEB 12, 2015

blackisle (973) - IJburg, NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2015
Bottle 33cl. Clear medium amber, small but steady frothy off-white head, good layer stays all the way, good lacing; sweet malty nose, grainy, bit dusty, light citrus note, bit of cheese; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty; medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, aftertaste mild bittersweet, light fruity notes, more dry bitterness in the finish; decent but too malty for an IPA.
