With hops grown in the clean air of Motueka, in New Zealand’s south island, this is a premium lager with a uniquely rich aroma and an exceptionally clean taste

UPDATED: APR 3, 2008 Crisp, relatively clean and easy to drink. Has a malty aftertaste. Very slight hoppy notes throughout. A simple easy beer.

330ml bottle from Waitrose. Not much to say except to echo the previous rate - this is mellow and inoffensive. Light malt, light hops, not great on the aroma. Short finish. Forgettable.

Bottle from supermarket Waitrose Witney I think, had this 04-02-08 Poured golden and clear with white head. Tasted too sweet, lacking in any real challenging bitterness or bite and I really couldn’t detect much in the way of hops. Despite all this criticism I actually found it quite inoffensive and ok, I wouldn’t rush out to buy one again but it was better than I expected.

Bottle… Clear yellow lager with a small, fizzy, white, quickly vanishing head. Honey and toffee nose with restrained, peppery hops and biscuit malt. Medium-bodied with passable carbonation. Medium sweet caramel and biscuit balanced by a resilient hop bite. Short, snappy finish. Thanks to Magic_dave6 for providing this rarity!

Bottle from booths keswick. Aroma is sweetish lager malts, grassy and herbal hop balancing, grainy but not overpoiweringly so. Taste is again grainy sweet malts with mainly herbal hop character, small tiny hints of corn syrup, but alround not bad.

Bottled. A golden coloured lager with a short-lived off-white head. The aroma is grassy hops and a bit of sweet malt. More sweetness in the taste which has quite a harsh lager hop bite. Verges on the good, and certainly has character, but seems to dumb down. Seems to seek cleanness for some reason.

Copper gold, small white head. A touch of skunk in the first whiff, but doesn’t seem to last. Herbal hops, a bit of puffed wheat. Decent herbal hop bite, A little sweet-leaning but enough hops for balance. A bit heaviy carbonated and a little touch of cardboard, but not bad. Better than I expected.

Clear 24kr gold. Quite effervescent. Thin white cover. Skunky beginnings eventually reveal mellow hops that quickly lean toward metallic territory. Atomic grains are surprisingly not too sweet, but finding interest in here is a struggling matter.
