With hops grown in the clean air of Motueka, in New Zealand’s south island, this is a premium lager with a uniquely rich aroma and an exceptionally clean taste

Clear golden with a foamy white head. Aroma is sorta skunked...but has a sweet malt, hop, yeast aroma. Flavor is normal lager. Malts, some hops. Light bitter finish. Medium body. Nothing special, but a fairly solid lager.

Bottle from booths keswick. Aroma is sweetish lager malts, grassy and herbal hop balancing, grainy but not overpoiweringly so. Taste is again grainy sweet malts with mainly herbal hop character, small tiny hints of corn syrup, but alround not bad.

Clear golden colour, off-white head. Aroma has fruity hops and malts. Flavour has a decent amount of hops. Fresh and clean. Dry finish. Nice surprise!

Copper gold, small white head. A touch of skunk in the first whiff, but doesn’t seem to last. Herbal hops, a bit of puffed wheat. Decent herbal hop bite, A little sweet-leaning but enough hops for balance. A bit heaviy carbonated and a little touch of cardboard, but not bad. Better than I expected.

Pours a dark golden with thin white head. Quite malty on the nose, with subtle vanilla aromas coming through and a touch of yeast. Malt and citrus flavours, particularly orange, are most prominent, with a beautiful hoppy kick on the finish and a sweet malt aftertaste. Clean and smooth, with a lot of flavour. This is a very drinkable beer and one of my favourites from the Monteiths range.

Enjoyed over blue cod fish & chips at the Drunken Sailor in Bluff. Pours a bronzy golden with a moderate soapy white head. Very grassy skunky hop aroma with sweet malt. Sweet grainy flavour, lovely hoppy character, very fresh.

Bottle 330ml from Waitrose, Lymington, Hampshire. Pours a goldy straw colour, with a decent white head. To be honest, not much of an aroma, perhaps light citrus notes. Flavour is pretty standard - nothing stands out in my mind. Crisp and dry finish, with slight bitterness. Sold as a premium lager at a premium price - h’mm, well it’s good but not that good.
