Not sure how Monteiths does it but they have created yet another beer which is characterless and lifeless. It is like they are afraid of making a beer that has flavour and think that making another variant of a swilling beer is what sells volume.

Monteith's let me down again and I will not be going back. Nothing on their label seemed to exist in the beer. All I got was a pale looking beer that smelt of nothing, was watery with a touch of grass and metal. Not Enjoyable.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Light gold colour with tick white head. Mild hop aroma, strong malty flavour. Slight bitter after taste. Is not unpleasant, just a little bland.

This does not live up to its hype. No surprises here. Marks off for marketing itself as anything other than tasteless, cloying slosh.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy tan, thin head, lemon-lime hop aroma, earthy American bitterness (old cascades). Light florals, good balance, slight tartness in the finish.

Not at all what the bottle described. Fairly disappointed with this effort. Just another mediocre pale ale with a fancy name to catch the eye but does not have the beer to back up the description on the label. Really disappointed.

Poured from bottle. Little head. Very light with not much carbonation. Smells hoppy in the glass and very light on the tongue. Short on after taste.

Bottle from 1st Choice. Watery, pale looking, slight aluminium aroma , but that’s about it (the citrus and pine quoted on the label is well hidden). Flavour is nothing much at all either. A disappointing beer.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
330ml bottle from Dan Murphy’s. This is a very average looking beer with a white head and a very clear thin looking body. Aroma is mild at best as is the flavour. Nothing about this beer says pale ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sparkling golden ale with a fulsome marshmallowy white head. A good looking beer to be sure. Aromas of fresh, grapefruity hops, lemon zest and some cereal. Flavours of similar citrus freshness and faint ginger. A summery sort of beer with plenty of aroma hopping but not a great deal of bitterness. Put in context, this beer isn’t sold to set the world on fire and it doesn’t. But then, if you have low expectations, like I did, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
330mL bottle. Pours very pale straw with a "wheetbix" aroma and no head. There is so little flavour to this beer it astounds me. If there are hops in this beer there were only used to bitter it..
