Monteith’s Pilsner Beer is a Bohemian-style lager in the heritage of extremely hopped blonde beers brewed in parts of Eastern Europe. It has a complex hop aroma and a rich hop bitterness characteristic of this tradition in brewing.
Monteith’s Pilsner Beer has a malty quality that includes smooth caramel characteristics from the use of Vienna-style crystal malts. The key flavour is its enormous hop character, crafted around this complex malt flavour.

A golden pils with a thin white head. Light signs of oxidation in aroma, with faint German hops. In mouth, there is still some life left in this one, with grainy (attenuated) malt, still a nice grassy German hops attack, mineral notes, oxidation is not too bad. BB March 2010...still drinkable.

Golden color with medium pored, durable head. The smell is hoppy sweet. Starts conspicuous sweet and hoppy, but unfortunately also slightly musty, malty. The finish is also hoppy sweet, characterized by a sweet aftertaste.

(bottled) Amazed to see this listed as a Bohemian Pilsener , ’pale lager’ is being kind ...who ever entered it that was very drunk or dead-pan. headless, grainy sweet ,with honey ,faint caramel but shitloads of h20.

Bottle, bought @ LIVA, Kolding.
Clear golden pour with a medium, frothy and light fizzy, white head. Few bubbles in the liquid. Aroma is sweet, malty, some citric notes, light sugary. Highish carbonation, fairly nice mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, some sugary notes, light hay-like bitterness. Could have done with more bitterness, but is not a horrible pilsner.

Bottle 330ml. Malty, and not too bad. Aromas of straw, citrus, a hint of caramel, and band-aid. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes. Palate is oily, and highly carbonated. Yellow, with a frothy head.

Herb-getreidiger, dennoch milder Abgang. Test vom 11.6.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,12,11,10,11 - 11,10

Pours amber with a large, white head. Nose shows cardboard, cooked vegetables and sweet bready malt. Similar flavours but less vegetal character, with more sweet clean malt instead. Very easy-going bitterness, faint grassy hops. Too much carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden-yellow with a small, diminishing white head. Slightly tart, hoppy aroma at first. Fruity and slightly grainy notes and a touch of yeast as it warms, overshadowing the hops. A bit cloying. Flavour is dry and hoppy initally, but fruity and grainy notes soon take over here as well. Further warming brings out metallic notes. Bitter, grainy finish with lingering grassy notes. Overall not that interesting. Could have been decent if the grain hadn’t overshadowed the hops. 28.05.11.

At Papsoe’s pre CPH Beer Fest tasting, cheers Henrik! Clear gold beer, soft palate, sweetish malt with some sweetish fruit. Actually not bad at all, slips down easy!
