2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2010 It was fun coming across a bottle of this. Nice malt and citrus aroma. A mellow and fresh brew, without much pilsner hopping. Pleasant, but not exciting. There is no need to ship this all the way across the globe - similar stuff is not hard to find.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
From a bottle poured a straw color with a fair amount of head. Grassy malty flavor with a quick finish.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pretty boring and very mass produced tasting. No doubt this is probably a cash cow for the parent company. Easy drinking, but with few truly redeeming qualities. These guys should be doing better with the possibilities with this style.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Clear golden, no head. Complicated aroma with candy, fruit, perfume and grass. Medium body, light carbonation. Rather bland flavour - pleasant tangy malty start with some hops but little bitterness in the finish. Overall itís definitely drinkable but not terribly interesting.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Gold, white head, high bead. Aroma has moderate amount of malt and rather muddled-smelling hops. Taste is firm malt and just a little bitterness. Iíve had Pils where the bitterness isnít that high, but thereís just not enough here to make this anything more than an OK Kiwi lager.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma is hops, grass, grain, and malt. Flavor follows suit, with a sweet and moderately bitter quality. Light bodied. Too grainy, which masks some of the hops, but still has a decent earthiness to it. Not bad for the style because it doesnít have the Euro skunkiness that so many of its peers have.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, fruity, sugar, moderate hoppy, grass, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft and sticky.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
[Bottle] Pours a clear shade of yellow with some white foamy head. Light grainy aroma. Tastes pretty similar, with a noticeable crisp hop finish. The only thing saving this beer is the fact the palate is pretty good for the style. High carbonation. Itís not too bad, but I was expecting more after trying Monteithís Black.

2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours with a big white head over a clear golden body. No aroma of note. Body balances the sweetness of malt and the hoppy bitterness. Nothing special.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. The aroma is not great - lacks true Saaz character of a Czech style pils. The flavour is a slight improvement, but my overall impression is just another boring pils.
