2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml brown bottle. Pours dark golden with a medium sized white head. Nose and taste of grainy malts, honey and light citrus hops. Sweet and refreshing with a low bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A straightforward lawnmower beer for the Summer similar to their Golden Lager.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I’m gonna be kind here and rate this as a one-off drink between good beers. It is macro in aroma and taste, it is very corny, cereal smelling and tasting, yet it does have a solid body to it, which lifts it slightly above a green-bottle slosh. It is very even, in that the beginning, middle and finish are all well represented. I’d happily drink a bottle of this, but that would be all. The finish is very cooking oil/sweet glugginess. Needs more bitterness to cut through the sludge. More than one of these would be too many.

Bottle.Nothing special and rather boring. There are better versions of sparkling ales.

Really boring. Not impressed, it is a banal and ordinary beer. It leaves you waiting and pining for more flavour.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Clear sparkling bright amber poor as expected. Little disappointed with this beer from montieths. Had a home brew like flavour, not as crisp and sharp as I was expecting but flat. High carbonation kept the beer slightly lively but over all nothing to write home about.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From a 500ml bottle on 6/3/2012. Pours a clear golden with a big head. Has a very mild fruity, malty nose. The flavour is sweet citrus and stone fruits, with not much else but some slight balancing hops. A passable summer quaffer but quite unremarkable.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle. A deep honey amber colour wih a thick fluffy head of white foam that laces the glass. There is some sweetness in the aroma and also some fruit and malt. The flavour is a bit lacking.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Deep, ruddy amber, sparkling, with a lot of carbonation. Solid, one finger of foam atop that is rocky, snow-white in colour and lasting to leave a good film of white upon the glass. Aroma of pear drops, peach, rubber bands and Play-doh™. Sweet and tart start, wishy-washy and ill defined. Not much malt tone to save it, and little to no hops. Quite metallic and soapy in the tail. The finish has a lingering lemon and pear drop sweetness. Watery, thin, frothy, just blah. Tastes of mass production, high gravity brewing. The work of chemists really! 2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500ml bottle pours clear golden amber with rocky off white head. Good lace, sparse bubbles. Decent malty aroma with a light floral, perfume and pitted fruit character, a touch of vegetable on the nose. Not too much go on the taste department. Medium-light body, a tad below medium carbonatio. A simple plain malt character, clean yeast, a touch of mineral and a light floral herbal hoppy and lightly bitter finish, balanced with a light malt sweetness. Not bad, not outstanding.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
I guess you have to rate this in context. It can be had for under $3 here in Victoria for a 500ml and for the most part it is very good quaffing summer beer. Light, low complexity (and flavour intensity) but nice sweet lager notes, a faint spice hit and mild fruity flavours. Perfect for the deck on a late summer’s day.
