COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Montejo is a regional brand, mainly found in the Southeast of Mexico. It is a pilsener type beer and is sold in two different packages.

Bottle. Clear yellow. Odorless for the most part. Focus, and you’ll find faint corn chips. Taste is equally distant. Nothing offensive. Some grass on close. It is what it is.

Btl pours pale golden color,small tight head vanished quickly leaving no lace and a small ring of foam. Lots of bubbles rising from the bottom. Smells of grass and a hint of flowers. Taste of nothing really. Light body,soft mouthfeel,above average carbonation and a slight tingling finish. No nasty skunk aroma. While fairly bland and simple this beer is easy to drink,and very refreshing on a hot summer day. Intro beer for someone that might not like the taste of beer. Better with a wedge of lime!

It’s a forgettable pale lager like so many others. Slight hints of cardboard and a dry finish. Works okay if you’re desperately thirsty but not sure why they market so many essentially the same pale lagers in Mexico. At least the clamato beer was a grand experiment and memorable. This isn’t.

Can. Head is initially small, fully diminishing. Body medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with notes of lemon juice and kumquat. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter, husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, metallic. Strange brew, this one...fruity in the nose and fruity acidity on the tongue as well. Not unpleasant in that regard, but not expected. Husky and metallic characters are no fun, though. Odd.

Oh god. Had this on a tour bus to Chichen Itza and then again to Tulum and it is truly thirst slaking but fairly terrible. The nose is so light and doesn’t even have a haze of toasted malt and even less hops. Despite its particular ability to slake my thirst this is kind of a crap brew.

Appearance: Clear golden color with a small white head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Mild malty and mild hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a moderate bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Mild caramel malty, mild hoppy and a bit waterish.
Overall impression: Maybe ok under a burning sun on a lovely beach with some half naked ladies.
