Single bottle purchased from a small store on Isla Murjeres in Mexico on 11/10/2011. Colour: A curious mix of light orange, gold, dark yellow and faint brown. I give it credit for its originality! No head though. Nose: Oakiness is actually about, which is odd. A roasted butterscotch flutters. Like most mexican beers, doughy yeast comes on strong after swirling. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, medium-light sour. Lot’s of vanilla maltose, albeit not overpowering. A sprinkle of nut but remains pretty basic. A bit doughy mouthfeel.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2011 Bottle in the Yucatan. More bland Mexican beer. A little skunky, not as refreshing as it should be.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and even of structure. The beer also contained much carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear yellow color and a watery taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppy bitter with a light malty touch . This beer smells to musty.

Sehr leichter Getreideantrunk, erfrischend. Trinkbar. 3/5/6/5/11/5

Not very exciting pale lager. Adjunct flavors come through. Had in Merida. Serving: Bottle

Bottle [325ml] shared with HogTownHarry & biegaman -- c/o biegaman. Pours a clear pale gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma: Oh, that’s not good: Corny and vegetal with lots of sugar. Flavour of corn, grain and sugar. Light bodied. Not good.

12oz bottle shared by biegaman with me and blankboy. Clear flat gold pour with a minimal white head. Smells like creamed corn and sugary cheap floral handsoap - ugh. Tastes like stale applesauce, plastic and corn husks. Thin body, really watery, quick-finishing, a bit of an ugly aftertaste. Not good.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle. I drank this one while roaming around Progresso. It pours a pale yellow with a foamy white head that falls into nothingness rather quickly. The nose is corn and skunk. The flavor follows suit. Hey, at least it is cold. As bad as it is, it isn’t as bad as some of the other Modelo crew. Unfortunately in some cases that really isn’t saying much. Avoid this one like the plague.
