Bottle. Agree with Duffman on this one. This tastes like Modelo, but in a different (brown) bottle. Since this beer is always drank on or near the beach, it reveals itself as it warms.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with a short lasting medium bubbly white head. Aroma has some malt with a little sweetness. Weak malty and bit sweet with some hops.

I think the Modelo people just fill a bunch of differently labelled bottles with the same beer! I can’t discriminate! Average pale lager made more enjoyable by simply being in Mexico when you drink it. Also, you can’t get the squirts from drinking it (well, bottled version anyway).

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Can from a store near the Royal Caribbean port in Cozumel. Pours an abysmal yellow, with lively carbonation and a quick fading head. Aroma is stale cardboard. No kidding. Flavor is sour corn and tamale. Seriously. Watery brew that is typical of all beers from Mexico. It’s a good thing Mexico has good food... I agree with coldbrewsky: When in Mexico, drink the local elixir; it fits the ambiance. Enjoy.

Thirty pesos @ a Mexican buffet near Chichen Itza. I should have purchased a Negro Modelo instead of Montejo. Bland, bland Mexican cerveza.

Not much taste. Standard amber colour and lager taste. More bland even than Corona and Dos Equis.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle purchased in a tienda in Playa del Carmen. Clear and light gold hue; quickly dissipating head. Light carbonation met a light body. Malts were sugary sweet; corn sweetness mostly. Herbs were in the background. Very little bitterness, other than the byproducts of carbon dioxide. Flavors weren’t so good in this puppy, to put it lightly.

Golden coloured pale lager. It’s, again, a very standard pale lager. A bit sharp, spicy taste. Not too good.
