Montejo is a regional brand, mainly found in the Southeast of Mexico. It is a pilsener type beer and is sold in two different packages.

Not much taste. Standard amber colour and lager taste. More bland even than Corona and Dos Equis.

Bottle purchased in a tienda in Playa del Carmen. Clear and light gold hue; quickly dissipating head. Light carbonation met a light body. Malts were sugary sweet; corn sweetness mostly. Herbs were in the background. Very little bitterness, other than the byproducts of carbon dioxide. Flavors weren’t so good in this puppy, to put it lightly.

Golden coloured pale lager. It’s, again, a very standard pale lager. A bit sharp, spicy taste. Not too good.

at a tgif’s at the cancun airport. was willing to try anything other than a corona. a little more oomph to this one, ath least the first, where the alcohol percent was 6%, the second one’s bottle said 4.5%. great option to the other mexican beers.

Clear yellowy golden appearance, clean aroma. Fairly clean dryish flavor overall, mild sharpness in the finish but really not much going on.

Sampled from bottle. Pours a clear, yellow-gold with a thin, but lasting white head and nice lacing. Aroma is so clean it is non-existant. Flavor is balanced and grainy with no hop presence. Likely some corn adjunct. Light bodied and moderately carbonated. Almost watery. Worth the $0.55 I paid for it.

My first wiff of this was unpleasant, somehow it was just off. The appearance is nothing special, light yellow with evidence of carbonation and a thin white head. The flavor starts sweet and finishes with a hint of bitterness. The palate is just plain bland, but less carbonated than Pacifico. I wonder what would happen if Modelo mistakenly bottled a batch of Pacifico in Montejo bottles and vice versa. Would anyone notice?

Thanks a lot to my parents who picked this up in Cazumel on a trip. Very light gold with a thin white head. The aroma is celery and lettuce with sweet honey. The taste is a light bread with some peanuts and celery. Slight spice of black pepper. Not offensive.

Bottle... Another beer consumed in Cazumel on a warm, humid day. Like most others in the Modelo family, fizzy and nondescript. This one has a touch more malt or adjuncts or whatever. A hint of sweetness. Went well with my conch dish.

Bottle. Thanks to argo0 for this! Translucent gold with a small white head. Aroma is unsatisfying. Stale hops and wet malt with hints of corn syrup and metal. Taste is vegetal and metallic with light corn syrup notes. Some light citrus(lemon) coming through at times. Body is overcarbonated but finishes thin and somewhat dry. Overall finish is thin malt, light corn syrup and is watered down. Can’t win them all...
