2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
"If not for the heavier body, I’d have thought they mixed up the pale and IPA. Not nearly as aromatic or as hoppy in flavor as the pale. Too much malty sweetness and really little hop presence. Not a bad beer, but a bad ipa."

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a deep golden color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Nose is faintly hoppy. Taste is a blast of hops; interestingly somewhat floral and with citrus notes. Nearly full-bodied, lively carbonation, semi-dry finish with a floral flourish. Nice!

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
Clear golden orange pour with a white head. Nose is pretty unpleasant. Urine, berries, herbs, and grass with a sweet caramel and bread malt base. Blech. The flavor is not much better. Quite grassy with a strange herbal quality and lots of berries. Juniper notes, a little bit of pine bitterness, and lots of caramel sweetness.

0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20
Tap at the brewery earlier this month. Served in a pint glass full to the rim with absolutely no head. No bubbles. Aroma is barely there with some slight pine if anything. Taste, bland malt forward, simcoe hops in the front but nothing that stands out. The lack of carbonation is a big off putting element. Asked if there was a problem with the carbonation was told, "No, this is the way we intend it to be served." So if you like flat, malty, IPA, this is for you!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
I had this on draft at Monterey Coast Brewing. I thought that this was a nicely balanced IPA: good bitterness, but not a palate mauler. Good background malts.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at the brewpub IPA but not nearly as hoppy as their Pale Ale. Clear amber with a medium off white head. Nose has a little pine and citrus but pretty blagh for an IPA. Flavor is lightly bitter, lots of caramel, and a hint of diacetyl.
