Llevat.
Formerly Montseny Lupulus.

Bottle @ home. Hazy light yellow/orange appearance with a white head, almost exactly like a Belgian Witbier. Sweet yeasty and mildly hoppy aroma. Sour, slightly yeasty,

Brother brought it back from Spain, and alas that is a problem, as the green bottle created a somewhat skunked brew. In any case, I think that it is possible to see past the skunkiness and see what this beer would have been like in its original manifestation. Pours a white head over a cloudy yellow body. Aroma, past the skunk, is very fruity, though not citrusy and with a touch of hops. Really slight bitterness. A little watery perhaps. Definitely not an American IPA, but it does make me wish I could have tried it in its unadulterated form. Oh well. Its their fault they use those idiotic green bottles.

Pours light orange yellow, completely hazed, some chunks, thick creamy white head. Aroma of very mild floral and grassy hops. Taste is light sweetness, some lemon, floral hops, grass. Actually pretty good beer, just not if you compare it to most IPA’s. If I didn’t know, I might say this is a Pils, drinks like one. Bready malts, mild banana sweetness, pretty nice.

33cl bottle. Medium off-white head that mostly dissipates atop murky light ice tea body. Aroma is medium sweet, straw, orange, some biscuit. Taste is medium sweet, lime/orange. Soft light-medium body, fairly drinkable.

In the 0.5L green bottle from a little shop off of Avinuda de Roma. A thick cake of white yeast stirs up to make for a hefeweizen-looking cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Smells like pears and cheese. Not any traditional hop aromas. The flavor is well hopped with a solid drying finish of woody, not citrus hopiness. This is a delightful break from all those Cataluna pale lagers.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2011 33cl bottle from a local supermarket. It pours a hazy pale yellow liquid with some sediments (as it is not filtered) and a medium bubbly white head that dissipates rather quickly, leaving no lacing. The nose is grassy, with a hint of malt. Spices and a general sweetness, it mainly has a strong hoppy aroma (citron, apricot). Flavour is mainly hops, with some straw, a little apricot and citron; it finishes dryish, with a very bitter and medium sweet aftertaste. One of the best choices from CCM, the most extended company of Catalan artisan beer. A good one to try; very natural flavour. Presentation (bottle and crown cap) is OK.

Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain/bread), lightly to moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers, lemon), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Well, it assuredly isn’t an IPA, but it’s a genuinely nice, clean, modest little pale/golden ale. Nice hops, guessing Tettnanger or Hallertauer. Easy-going but nicely balanced and pleasant.
