UPDATED: FEB 24, 2013 Per mi es la més ben feta de les CCM. Les que estic bebent aquests dies tot i ser fora de data (5 mesos aprox) potser tenen fins i tot un punt extra en sabor. Pot prendre nota qui vulgui per fer la prova. Agradable malta torrada i cereal, força ben equlibrat i fàcil de beure.

Pours to a deep filtered brown body with a super tall meringue like tan head. Very rocky and lots of delicate lacing. The aroma is dry with a light tangy roasted black malts. The flavor is dry roasted black patent with a subtle earthy tang and vanilla like character. Palate is dry and roasty. Goes down smooth.

Bottle courtesy of Jay at Beer Run and shared at the 17th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 1/28/12. Pours a hazy copper color with a large frothy head. Decent head retention. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, tart and dusty notes and cherries. The taste is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and a chalky finish. Medium bodied, very high carbonation. Nice beer.

Richmond 17th. Aroma is oddly of ash? Flavor is much better, coffee, slight chocolate,burnt roast. Not bad actually.

Pour is a black with a large tan head. Aroma is an ok roasted malt/ coffee combo. Flavor is is about the same. Some roasted malt and coffee with a finishing sourness. It’s ok I guess and I’ve had worse.

Bottle sampled. Aroma is vinous, kinda sour. Dark brown colour with large brown bubbles. Taste is bitter coffee, kinda smokey, watery. Okay, but I was disappointed with this one.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Beautiful thick foamy head contrasts with the deep dark colour. Smells of smokey coffee with a tart tinge to it. A little bitter.

Pours black with a foamy mocha head. Notes of dark fruit, phenolic spice, cherry, lightly tart like a lambic, hints of chocolate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

A nice looking stout with a sweet chocolate and coffee aroma. Burnt malt flavor with some other grains detectable, just a hint of wheat even. Bitter hop presence balances this decently. Heavy head which settles down to a quarter inch that remains present until the beer is consumed. Bottle is black for US market with a strange painting on the label, probably per order of the importer, the intrepid Shelton Brothers.

Bottle @ home. Deep black appearance with a big dark brown head. Roasty, slightly bitter, chocolate malty nose. Pretty bitter, quite roasty, dark burnt, chocolate malty flavor. Bitter, roasty finish.
