Cask-conditioned at the South Wales Beeriodical, the Seven Stars, Bristol 5/11/2012. Reddish amber with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of berry fruits, caramel and a touch of leafy hop. Flavour was also sweet and fruity, with am moderately bitter finish. Good.

Gravity dispense at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough BF - 12/10/12. Slightly hazy dark golden with a bubbly white head. Toffee, malt and barley on the nose. Caramel malt, light hops, some toffee and nutiness in the taste. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish. Distinctly whelming!

Pigs Ear. Light hazy dark brown beer. A little sour maple and malt on the nose. Nice fresh malt, a little sweet. The maple is well integrated. Light crisp finish with a little hop fruit and bitterness. Nice.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 3 December 2009. Clear copper colour. Some caramel and toffee. Backed up by nutty and fruity notes. Decent depth of flavour. Definitely more malt than hop though. Is there maple in this? Sweetish with a smooth mouthfeel. Pleasant and easy drinking. Whilst the hop levels may be quite low it has more weight than many beers of this strength.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear BF 09. Chestnut colour, lasting off white head. Very fruity on aroma. Fruity on swallow but needs more malt in the body. Bit watery, but good fruit.
