Bottle 330ml. Dark brown reddish color, medium beige head. Medium carbonation, medium body. Taste is malty, some caramel and chocolate and dark fruits. Some bitter aftertaste. Nice beer, but not that special. However, gets better when it’s warmer.

Brown to black colour with a off-white creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, some fruity characters and some red fruits. Taste of roasted malts, some red fruits, some hops bitterness in aftertaste. Some sweetness as well. A little cherry and a small hint of dark chocolate. A nice balanced body with a dry finish.

On tap- Served a deep mahogany color with a small tan head that fades quickly but leaves ample lacing til the end. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, bit of toffee and an earthy grain in the background. Taste of toffee, dark chocolate, bit of coffee and roasted malt. Nice bitterness and a dry finish. Solid medium body, smooth and quite creamy. Nicely balanced. Enjoyable beer that goes down easy. Worth a try.

Aroma is mild bit there are hints of coffee and slightly earthy notes. Appearance is a deep brown with a tan head. Taste is too roasty wit not much else going on, slightly astringent, but with a touch of chocolate. Palate is a bitter feel, although it is pleasant. Not raving about this, but it’s not terrible.

Great tasty beer. Full of caramel malts with hints of coffee. Going to be a great option when feeling like a stout but want something a little lighter and crisper.

330ml bottle. Pours a deep ruby chestnut, with a smallish off-white head, which does not last too well, but does leave very good lacing. Leafy, herbal hops, Turkish coffee, dark chocolate and some floral notes make up the aroma. Floral and herbal hops up front lead into dark chocolate and thick Turkish coffee. There is a kick of resin hops and espresso in the finish, which leaves a lingering rich and dark aftertaste. This is a very good brown ale indeed, with just the right balance of hops and malty sweetness.

A-- Poured a dark reddish brown, in glass it is nearly black. Very short lived sandpaper brown color head. Swirl glass and head does come back. No bubbles on side or anything like that. S-- Coffee, chocolate, cherry or stone fruit tones. Does have a bit of a watery smell to this. T-- Roasted coffee, chocolate, some plum and cherry. Coffee taste is big and a bit overpowering. Very malty taste to this. M-- Medium carbonation. Needs more of the fruit to come out. Feel like I am drinking an overdrawn watery espresso. Bitter in a lot of ways and not all that good. D-- One is fine by me. This would actually be better if it was bigger. 5% is too small for this. If it was 8% and had more sweetness it would be fine. Too much coffee taste and not enough fruit again. did not do much for me.

Bottle at the Festival of Voices Singer’s Lounge. Almost no head, dark brown with ruby highlights. No head retention. Malty nose. Caramel and floral hops. Taste is a bit sweet with cherries on the attack, malts and caramel mid palate, and a good shot of acid. Not very bitter. Smoky finish. Pretty good, but the mouth feel is slightly watery. Not as flavoursome as I was expecting.
