This dark ale pays homage to the American Brown Ale style, presenting dark with a deep sherry-red hue. The palate has caramel and chocolate and a lightly roasted finish. Hop bitterness and aromatic character are balanced and pleasantly textured.

Bottle - Pours deep deep ruby with an off white head. Roasty toasty malt, a touch of leather and perhaps a hint of cherries. Very smooth, really well balanced, slight sweetness upfront then a gradual dry roast malt bitterness with a hoppy note in there too. Only thing against it is it might be a bit thin, but still very very drinkable.

(Arty) bottle. Dark reddish-brown. Delicious toffee and prune aromas. Toasty malts. Medium body, medium carbonation. Slightly sticky and supple. Very moreish. My favourite from Moo Brew so far.

There’s no US character in this beer, but as an English brown its not bad. The aroma had no hops, but quite a nice malty chocolate. Flavour very well balanced with appropriate carbonation, but a touch of astringency in the finish. Nice with a chicken roll for lunch.

A great brew for winter. Dark as stout but definitely an Ale. Roasted barley, hint of caramel but great on nose. But the taste has a berry element. Even slight rum. Good job. 330ml, 1.3std drinks, 5%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a bottle. Pours a very dark brown, thin off white head, mild coffee aroma and rich chocolate flavours. Good stuff, very drinkable.

Pours a deep brown colour, with a nice big head that stays quite a while. Lot of roasted malts in the aroma, togwther with dark chocolate and light touches of toffee. Flavour is spruce, coffee, light smokey touches and a earthy feel. A tad watery mouthfeel, soft carbonation and a rather light body. An okey beer, minus on the palate.

Ruby hued cola brown in colour, shimmering in the lights. Low, wafer thin off-white pad persists. Smoky, roasted grain, timber and dusty, barnyard notes are prominent on the nose, as some burnt coffee beans and a hint of nettles. All the hallmarks of a classic Schwarzbier on display here. Rich, burnt malts, bitter roasted coffee bean and dark chocolate, biscuity Munich malts, a light scattering of earthy hops that last long into the finish. Well rounded, mouthfilling flavour. The body little more than light but its presence is that of something bigger. I really enjoyed this one. Could be a new choice for session beer if it was more readily available. Delicious!
