These guys mean business. I havenít tasted an Aussie beer at this level of complexity. This is big boy Belgian yeast character with a backdrop of quality hops and brown sugar ! Outstanding

Works out as a bitter English brown ale with Belgian yeast flavours and dark coffee-chocolate and caramel in the mix. Enjoyable for winter.

Big rich roasted nutty flavours. Has a warming feeling. A nice change from a style that I typically find watery and bland.

2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Way over carbonated, beer went everywhere upon opening too. Was excited by appearance and aroma to be hugely let down by taste and palate. Extremely bitter, none of the smoothness suggested by other reviewers. Must have been a bad bottle - undrinkable.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy dark brown colour with thin-medium tan head. Slightly sour cocoa nose. Citrus trying to come through, but is masked by the malt. Taste has nice complexity. Bitter chocolate with bread and dark toffee. Coats the palate nicely and has a lingering finish. Itís something different, but maybe not to my tastes.

on opening, beer everywhere. What an absolute mess and terrible way to start enjoying a beer. choc, carmamel and smoky aromaís, huge carbonation, battling with carbonation and froth to actually taste this. Fizzy is an understatement.
Gave it the paint shaker for 5 minutes. Smooth to taste, medium sweetness, a slight bitter finish.
Carbonation was dreadful, fix that and you have a pretty decent beer.

23/XII/13 - 330ml bottle @ home - BB: n/a (2013-1171) Thanks to Bo for bringing the bottle to Belgium!
Little cloudy brown beer, huge aery fizzy beige head, bit adhesive. Aroma: coffee, mocha, bit dirty, bread, sugary, burnt caramel, sourish, something rotten and unpleasant. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: mocha, coffee, bit sour, burnt toast, overripe banana. Aftertaste: bitter hops, sourish, lots of coffee, mocha, bit of caramel, overripe fruits, dry hoppy bitterness, some citrus, burnt malts. Nope, although itís not bad, Iím not a fan of this thing.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle into a tulip. Cool label art as always.
Pours a dark almost opaque brown with a finger of white head that fades to a cap.
A very malt driven nose, with sweetness, some strawberry lollies, a touch of chocolate, some plum and brandy, just a hint of some floral hoppiness and a good dose of funkiness.
First sip is really impressive. Attack is sweet with some plum and brown sugar on the mid palate. Thereís also a bit of orange and grapefruit from the hops on the mid palate. Finish starts of sweet, but this gives way to a really lovely roasted toasted malt character, and really funky flavour with a bit of hop resin just for fun.
Beer is medium bodied, but the mouthfeel is slightly slick and oily.
This is a really weird and wonderful beer. Itís worthing drinking just for the crazy combination, but itís surprisingly complex and tasty.
