The equivalent of drinking fresh hop goo, goo thats an amalgam of German, Aussie and Kiwi hops, an amalgam in which the New World hops carry out an almighty smackdown on the Old World, a smackdown in which, despite the seemingly huge amount of hops packed into the beer, the result is a smooth, bitter-without-being-beastly, hazy golden beer with bucketloads of fresh tropical aromas, a hazy golden beer that youd swear was never 7.1 per cent. Yet it is. And it turns out its a lager too a double lager, apparently and wed wager theyll be making more of it soon. Just give the pig a monocle and feather in his cap and well call it quits, guys.

From a 330ml bottle on 27/1/2013. Pours a cloudy medium golden with just the barest hint of a head. The aroma is primarily stone fruits with a touch of fermented apple. The flavour is big, with more stone fruits (apricot and peach), a touch of tropical fruit (pineapple), with a sharp citric bitterness which lingers. The body is full and the carbonation medium. Notwithstanding the advertising blurb, this presents as every bit of 7.1%. A very good beer.

From a bottle. Pours a very cloudy orange, lasting white head, strong fruity hops flavours with a lingering bitterness on the palate.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with a white head. Aroma is more of a farmhouse ale than a typical lager. Some citrus and tropical fruit. Initial flavour is sweet malt, followed quickly by sweet citrus. It goes down like an APA, but with the distinctive lager taste. More bitterness than I have seen in a lager like this before.

This is probably as challenging as lager gets. Full palate, apricot, very fruity, funky aniseed from the alcohol. I really think this has appeal.

on tap at the local taphouse in sydney. clear amber with plentiful lacing; decent blend of herbaceous and tropical aromas; spritzy; clean and pleasant, just could have used more bitterness to have been extra-impressive

Hazy peach-amber in colour with a rocky white head that is clinging to the side of the glass. An aroma that smells more like saison than lager: that fragrant citrus and slightly sour aroma. Tropical? It is upon tasting with guava, peaches and lychee aplenty and gentle bitterness and slight sourness that is quite refreshing. A curious creature this one.

Poured a cloudy honey amber colour with a one-finger white foamy head that retained well and laced OK with sudsy rings. Aroma of sweet citrus and sweet hops. Taste initially of sweet malt but qui8ckly followed by nice but quite bitter hops and a hint of spices. Medium body. Smooth, long hoppy bitterness finish. Bit pale ale-like. Quite good.

Brown ale with deep chestnut and citrus aromas. Very nice and exceeded all expectations.

330ml brown bottle. Now called a "double lager" with ABV of 5.9% and 34 IBUs. Aroma is lemony with notes of passionfruit, nectarine and grapefruit. Palate is medium bodied and lively with initial lager malt sweetness followed by a decent tropical hop bitterness that lingers. Think more APA than lager. Im not complaining...

On tap at the royston. Pours a deep golden/orange with a small white cap. Nose is heavy on passionfruit, citrus and Belgium yeast. Taste is passionfruit bitterness. Even a hint of spices in there. Says low ibus but tastes real bitter. This is really good happy with the take on this style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
