Chilled and into a Saison glass. An eggy, boiled cabbage fart is released once the cap comes off that blasts a potent mix around the room that got the attention of my Maltese lounged a few metres away. This doesn’t wane; it is vegetal, edged by a rotting guava flesh note that doesn’t sit well. Pour’s a cloudy, pastel hued, sandy gold with a diminishing, compact white crown. Candyish, lemon sherbet start, gammy and drawing from there on in with a lot of rancid guava fruit, straw-like, pasty wheat and yeast, and lactic acid in the swallow like souring milk. The eggy, vegie fart of the aroma is penetrating. Leaves a film on the tongue that a cup of hot tea could barely remove. This is not good at all, and I was so looking forward to tasting it, Guava beer, hmmm!! (33cL, no date stamp, Cellarbrations Carlisle)
