COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From Josh the brewer: "Uses NZ hops, heaps of blended turkish dried apricots in the boil. Rather delish! 9.2 per cent, smooth bitterness. I’m incredibly hung over and haven’t been home yet so am struggling for much in the way of descriptors……… sorry!”

Bottle from Slowbeer (Feb 2014). Hazy orange/amber, small off-white head, huge apricot/peach characters, chewy, resiny bitterness, rich caramel malt, full body, thick, syrupy texture, lasting bitter finish. Nice one.

From a 330ml bottle on 21/8/2014. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a smallish white head, with lots of yeast floaties. Has a light aroma featuring apricot and a touch of tropical fruit. The flavour is very intense, with the apricot hugely evident, along with a touch of booze and a big, quite sharp, slightly salty, citrussy bitterness at the back. Has a syrupy texture and average carbonation. Improves markedly as it warms. Very unusual and rather enjoyable, if not an absolute bullseye. Props to Moon Dog for producing some weird gear which pushes the envelope but remains very drinkable.

Bottle from The Wine Emporium February 2014. Not a lot happening in the aroma department and the beers pours with a tidy puff of white foam. You get the faintest hint of apricot in the finish.

MRMedellin (211) - Bogota, COLOMBIA - MAY 28, 2014
Orange cloudy beer, stable white head, strong hops aromas since is poured, and then some fruity notes come into. The body is medium, but the hop content is clearly high, increasing the intensity of the flavor and also giving to it an unexpected acidity and pepperiness. As is expected for an IPA the flavor remains for a while. Pretty good though, I was worried by the "apricot", but seriously work perfectly in this case.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2014 I’ll be honest, I’m not sure about this one, but luckily have a second bottle to try at a later date. Cloudy orange pour, clumpy protein globs throughout, not much head. Malty, apricot aroma. Tastes boozy, fruity, a little bitter, apricot more subtle than I expected. It tastes a bit like it’s had a shot of apricot schnapps put in it - I really wanted to like this but it’s just not my cup of tea. It does seem to get better as it warms up a little (and the fact that I’m gulping down 9% probably helps). Re-rate is in order though. Update 16/8 - Marginally better this time around. It’s still basically an ok IIPA with a little bit of apricot to it. Slight (2 points) upgrade

sinkas (288) - Perth/Fremantle, AUSTRALIA - MAR 29, 2014
Bottle Aubin Grove liquor Heavy and sweet and heady carbonation Flavour of double ipa but undertones of acetaldehyde which could be just the apricot Odd beer maybe apricot was added to cover up faults?

Excellent way to finish an Ipa off, great flavour, easy drinking beer. Apricot does not dominate the beer, just enhances it!

From a bottle. Pours a cloudy orange, not much head, mild fruity hops aroma, bitter and fruity with a warming cinnamon aftertaste. An interesting beer that turned out quite good. Doesn’t hurt that it’s 9.2%.

Murky peach. Aroma is nice light fruit - not strange or overpowering. Taste is fruity bitterness, light spice. Overall, not really an IPA as hops only seem to bring mild bitterness. More like a spiced fruit beer, but really enjoyed it.

Pours a cloudy brown colour with a white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, apricot of course, spices and plenty of hops. Taste is medium sweet of fruit leading to a big hoppy finish. Awesome!
