3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Murky orange/Amber, billowing off white head which turns into a dirty froth full of yeast. Classic grapefruit, citrus, pine, stone fruit and caramel malt with just a hint of spice. A whack of alcohol up front, moving into grapefruit, resin and pine. Reasonably bitter mid palate without being overpowering. Long grapefruit finish with just a hint of apricot and spice right at the end as it warms. I'm not a big dipa fan, but this is ok without really nailing it like moondog normally do. Cool name.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330mL bottle from Beer Cartel - guessing this is probably a bit old?
Pour starts deep orange then BOOM SEDIMENT to rival the yeastiest of my own homebrews. Creamy head sits atop.
Nose has bready malts upfront, hops are a touch dull, stonefruits apparent especially apricot, some (oxidised) floral honey notes.
Full bodied, warming, low carbonation, slightly syrupy.
More dried apricot & fig & peach on the body, muscatelle raisins even!? honey, date - almost feels like an old Barley wine without the richness at times. Warming finish, firm bitterness.
Obviously past its prime - would like to try it fresh (as is the custom with IPA).

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Into a chalice at just on cool. Hazy, deep amber with a short-lived off-white head. Apricot and cinnamon on the nose amongst bready, buttery, boozy notes. Mellow on the palate. Bready and yeasty. Apricot, cinnamon, ethanol, doughy, sweet, biscuity malts. Mild to dull bitterness. Tangy citrus lasts between sips. Sticky, viscous body. Not in the best shape as the yeast bite is quite pronounced. Not much here. Unsure if a re-rate is gonna come soon unless Moon Dog rerelease it. (33cL, no date stamp, Intíl Beer Shop, W. Leederville )

3.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Donít really get much apricot - itís just a pleasant fruity pale ale without much to distinguish it - very drinkable though - very much a crowd pleaser - drop the abv and it would be great on tap as a summer quaffer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle) Cloudy with plenty of floating matter and a small loose white head - not terribly appealing to look at. Subtle tangy fruity aroma, more ice lolly than beer - unusual but pleasant. Full body, slightly syrupy but well carbonated - again unusual and pleasant. The taste - what can I say? Unusual and pleasant. Itís also complex and changes in the mouth. The start is sweet fruit and malt with fresh tangy fruitiness to balance. Peppery spice notes develop and then in the finish a big bitter taste develops very late and stays around. Overall, you guessed it, an unusual and pleasant beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Slowbeer (Feb 2014). Hazy orange/amber, small off-white head, huge apricot/peach characters, chewy, resiny bitterness, rich caramel malt, full body, thick, syrupy texture, lasting bitter finish. Nice one.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
From a 330ml bottle on 21/8/2014. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a smallish white head, with lots of yeast floaties. Has a light aroma featuring apricot and a touch of tropical fruit. The flavour is very intense, with the apricot hugely evident, along with a touch of booze and a big, quite sharp, slightly salty, citrussy bitterness at the back. Has a syrupy texture and average carbonation. Improves markedly as it warms. Very unusual and rather enjoyable, if not an absolute bullseye. Props to Moon Dog for producing some weird gear which pushes the envelope but remains very drinkable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from The Wine Emporium February 2014. Not a lot happening in the aroma department and the beers pours with a tidy puff of white foam. You get the faintest hint of apricot in the finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange cloudy beer, stable white head, strong hops aromas since is poured, and then some fruity notes come into. The body is medium, but the hop content is clearly high, increasing the intensity of the flavor and also giving to it an unexpected acidity and pepperiness. As is expected for an IPA the flavor remains for a while. Pretty good though, I was worried by the "apricot", but seriously work perfectly in this case.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: AUG 16, 2014 Iíll be honest, Iím not sure about this one, but luckily have a second bottle to try at a later date. Cloudy orange pour, clumpy protein globs throughout, not much head. Malty, apricot aroma. Tastes boozy, fruity, a little bitter, apricot more subtle than I expected. It tastes a bit like itís had a shot of apricot schnapps put in it - I really wanted to like this but itís just not my cup of tea. It does seem to get better as it warms up a little (and the fact that Iím gulping down 9% probably helps). Re-rate is in order though.
Update 16/8 - Marginally better this time around. Itís still basically an ok IIPA with a little bit of apricot to it. Slight (2 points) upgrade
