Bottled. An unclear dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of peaches, cognac, caramel, fruit, malt, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, alcohol, cognac, alcohol, and hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of maneliquor. Pours a hazy yellow with a dense and frothy shaving foam style head leaving quite some lacework. Very funky, Bretty nose with some fruity hops up there. Rich body, solid malt base, again massive funky Brett, slightly tart and a shitload of hops. Not so much Cognac though - I guess the barrel aging all turned into Brett! Nothing like what I expectec, but quite interesting indeed. 030612

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bluevegie (3004) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 16, 2012
Hazy amber brown body with lasting head. Pine and tropical notes on the nose, mouthfeel is a little dull which should be from the barrel aging, an ipa and a iipa doesn’t need barrel aging I reckon. Still it was drinkable.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mkel07 (2340) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 27, 2012
330ml bottle. Thick and hearty in the glass, like a meal in a glass. Very little in the way of foam, just a scattering of bubbles around the edge of the galss. Hazy and murky, a deep muddy orange colour. The aroma is knock your socks off wow with a big smack in the face of hops. Full creamy texture in the mouth with a numbing aftertaste on the palate. The high alcohol takes over the hops and you can taste more alcohol that anything else, still good though. One to savour and tread carefully with.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jesperhammer (2203) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2012
03-JUN-2012, bottle @Papsø tasting.
Hazy orange with high lasting tan head.
Tart nose with some fruit and loads of brett.
Dry brett’y taste. No cognac.
Messy - a strange beast. Hops are there but clouded by brett. Almost sour. Very high carbonation.
Interesting but difficult to drink.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hawthorne00 (1856) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2011 Bottle. No pop at all when cap lifted. Murky amber, no head. Almost completely flat. Aroma of pine, kumquats, toffee, grapes. Taste has caramel, crackers, citrus and pine. Some grapes and alcohol which I guess is the cognac. Sweetness is brief and overtaken by firm bitterness with pine, kumquats and grapefruit. If they can get it into bottles successfully this probably would be good. Maybe I got unlucky with this bottle. [7 1 7 2 11 = 2.8]
Brewer volunteered a replacement bottle. Thanks Josh. Murky brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma as before with some grapefruit too. Lowish carbonation, oily to creamy mouthfeel. Taste is cleaner than before but with much the same flavours. Lots going on but it’s not a jumble of flavours. Good. Probably should’ve averaged score pending another working bottle, but didn’t. [7 2 8 4 15 = 3.6]

Bottle 330ml from Purvis. Great, malty and flavoursome. Aromas of caramel, ginger, toffee, resin, with hints of liquorice. Taste is sweet and bitter, with long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Brown. cloudy, with a thin head.
