wilkie (1088), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Apr 28, 2008 Draught at the WBF in Raleigh. Pours copper, with a beige head. Good hoppy aroma with a tad bit of caramel malt. Flavor is very hoppy, fairly well balanced. Has a lot of juniper and pine, in fact it is a bit strong on the juniper. Needs a bit more malt to back up the hops, but okay.
Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 25, 2006 (On tap) Cask conditioned, hence a bit flat. Pale amber with an off-white head. Fresh, but also somewhat alcoholic nose. Good, solid body with notes of pine needles, with the juniper also leaving a distinct imprint. Appears like an IPA with added Gin or Jenever. Dry, hoppy finish. Unusual and quite interesting. 010406
