Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Slightly hazy amber color with a medium foamy white head and small patches of lace. Aroma of hops and yeast. Light-bodied with flavors of hops, herbal yeast and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sampled at GABF on Saturday October 13, first session
Hazy amber color, off-white head. Sweet, fruity scent. Spicy, hoppy, chili taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

Tap. Hazy caramel with cream head with good retention and lots of lacing. Smells perfumy and caramelly with a note if white pepper. Flavor is almost like lemon and pepper. Grassy with a dueling dry and sweet finish.

Clear dark amber with good head. The aroma is decidedly fruity. Not as hoppy as I expected, but a little white pepper. Actually a very good beer if you ignore the IPA references in the description.

I’m curious about this one as the menu describes it as, “a hybrid of Belgian Pale Ale and an American IPA.” Pours amber and cloudy; leaves great lace. Flowery hop nose; no “Belgian” yeast aromas Slight fruity; I detect interesting winter warmer spice flavors (such as coriander, cinnamon and perhaps clove/all spice) although this is not in the description. While very tasty, I don’t note any of the typical Belgian flavors—no yeast bite, no sourness, no earthiness. Has a good full body with an appropriate level of carbonation. Round finish with a light hop kick after the swallow.

sampler. tap. the waitresses favorite beer, and she really knew her stuff. i like women that know their beer! nicely balanced (an occuring theme with this brewery) with a sweet belgian note over and ipa. i would really like to try this again soon. good crab melt too.
